Acute Joint Sprains and Muscle Pulls/Strains:

  • Apply 2 ActivMend patches for the first 48 hours
  • Apply 1-2 ActivMend patches after the first 48 hours
  • Replace patches every 24 hours
  • Cover with compression wrap
  • For faster reduction in swelling and acceleration of healing, apply more ActivMend patches
  • There is no limit to the number of patches you can apply

Chronic Injuries

Apply 1 ActivMend patch for 5 days, replacing every 24 hours

Detailed instructions:
  1. Tear open the ActivMend pouch, then open the zipper seal.
  2. Remove the patch from the clear liner by gently folding one corner and rubbing it between your forefinger and thumb. Detach the ActivMend patch completely from the clear liner before application.
  • 3. Apply the sticky side of the patch to the affected area over clean dry intact skin, pressing firmly.
  • 4. If needed, you can secure the patch with the tape/wrap or your preferred tape of choice. Use the roll of athletic wrap to hold the patch in place on your arm/leg. Use the sticky kinesiology tape on all other places, like the shoulder.
  • 5. Pinch the zipper seal together to close the envelope. Re-seal tightly to retain moisture.
  • 6. The patch can be removed, placed in a plastic bag, and reapplied.
  • 7. Replace patch after 24 hours of application.
  • 8. Avoid excessive moisture.
  • 9. Keep patches out of reach of children and pets.

For the best results with acute sprains, apply within 2 hours of the injury. The larger the area you cover, the stronger the effect, so consider using more than one patch.

The kinesiology tape contains adhesives and latex, do not use if you have sensitive skin or allergies.  If irritation or redness develops, immediately stop usage and contact a physician.
